How selling works in Chicago

The process is the same nationwide: describe the car, get Peddle’s offer on screen, and if you accept, a local towing partner schedules pickup, usually within a day or two. The driver checks the car, you sign the title, and they hand you a check.

Illinois paperwork after the sale

Notify the state
Complete the seller’s section of the title and keep a record of the sale (date, buyer, odometer). Check the Illinois Secretary of State’s site for current seller requirements.
Plates
In Illinois, plates belong to the owner, not the car, so remove them before pickup.
Also
If the car is parked on a Chicago street and doesn’t run, schedule pickup promptly; inoperable vehicles on public streets can be ticketed or towed.

Any condition

Non-running, wrecked, flood-damaged, totaled or just unwanted. Describe it accurately and the offer holds at pickup.
